Enjoy an outstanding adventure in Egypt through “The Best of Egypt by Train” 8 days tour in which on you will explore Egypt from day one upon arriving at Cairo International Airport. A TPT representative will be there to help you through the immigration process.
After that, you’ll take a scenic drive to your hotel, where you can enjoy views of Old Cairo, including the Citadel of Muhammed Ali and the stunning Mosque of Mohamed Ali, along with the Sultan Hassan mosque and El Refaie mosque.
Once you check in, you can relax then have dinner at a traditional restaurant. If you’re interested, you can also opt for a Sound & Light Show at the Pyramids. Later, return to your hotel for a restful overnight stay.
Day 02: Excursion to Alexandria
After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on a journey to Alexandria, located about 225 km away via the desert road. Your guided tour will highlight several key attractions, including the impressive Pompey’s Pillar, the ancient Catacombs, and the lovely Montazah Gardens. You’ll also have the chance to see the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and take an external look at the Qaitbay Citadel.
After this magnificent tour, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant then return to Cairo for dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 03: Pyramids, Sphinx, Museum, and Khan El Khalili
Begin your day with a delicious breakfast before setting off on a guided exploration of the legendary Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Experience the grandeur of the Great Sphinx and, time permitting, visit a papyrus institute or perfume shop.
You will then have a savor lunch at an oriental restaurant before heading to the Egyptian Museum, established in 1835, which houses over 120,000 artifacts, including treasures from Tutankhamun.
End your day with a visit to the bustling Khan El Khalili bazaar, where you can immerse yourself in its vibrant atmosphere.
Afterwards, we will transfer you to the train station for your overnight journey to Aswan, enjoying dinner on board.
Day 04: Arrival in Aswan and Nile Cruise
Enjoy breakfast on the train, and upon your arrival at Aswan Station, you’ll be escorted to your Nile cruise. Check-in and enjoy a tasty lunch on board. Afterwards, visit the High Dam and the Temple of Philae then enjoy a dinner on board and spend the night in Aswan.
Day 05: Aswan to Kom Ombo and Edfu
Start your day with breakfast on the cruise. You might be interested in an optional tour to Abu Simbel which will be available for you to enjoy it.
Following this, enjoy lunch as you sail to Kom Ombo to visit the Temple of Kom Ombo.
We will then sail to Edfu, where you’ll enjoy dinner on board and an overnight stay.
Day 06: Edfu to Luxor
Kick off your day with tea and coffee in the morning before visiting the Temple of Horus in Edfu. After breakfast, set sail to Luxor via Esna, with lunch served on board. Upon arrival, explore the impressive Karnak Temple and take a look at Luxor Temple from the outside. Enjoy dinner on board and spend the night in Luxor.
Day 07: West Bank and Return to Cairo
After breakfast, check out and head to the West Bank to explore the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. After your visits, you’ll transfer to Luxor train station for your return trip to Cairo, enjoying dinner and overnight accommodations on the train.
Day 08: Departure from Cairo
We will end our tour by assisting you with a transfer to Cairo International Airport for your departure.
