Itinerary

Day 1Saturday, July 5 – Departure Flight IAD to Cairo, Egypt

Today you will board your EGYPTAIR flight MS982 (non-stop) from Washington Dulles Airport (IAD) to Cairo, Egypt (CAI) at 12:00 noon.
(Transatlantic flights included with Complete Land & Air Package)

Day 2Sunday, July 6 - Arrival in Cairo

Arrive Cairo International Airport at 5:30 am. Upon arrival, your TPT representative will meet the group and assist through immigration. We will stop at Cairo University to take some photos, then continue to our hotel. After a few hours of refreshing, we will have lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch we will visit Old Cairo.

Welcome Orientation and Introduction Followed by Evening dinner Nile Cruise with Folkloric & Belly Dance Show while Cruising the Nile.

Day 3Monday, July 7- Cairo Pyramids & Sphinx Tour / Luxor

After breakfast at the hotel, we will check out and start our guided tour to visit the Great Pyramids & Sphinx of Giza with our English-speaking Egyptologist.

We will take a group photo at the Pyramids. Everyone should wear the white t-shirt.

Later, we will be transferred to Cairo airport for our flight to Luxor. Upon arrival at Luxor airport, we will start our visit to the Karnak Temple and the Papyrus institute. After the tour, we will go to the Nile Cruise to check in and start our 4-nights cruise.

After Lunch, we will visit the Luxor temple and visit a handmade Egyptian Jewelry store.
Back to the cruise ship for dinner and overnight in Luxor.

Day 4Tuesday, July 8 – Luxor / Esna /Edfu

This morning after breakfast, we will start our magical tour in Thebes, the sacred land by exploring the west bank of Luxor including Valley of the Kings, which is considered as the royal cemetery of the Theban kings (rulers of ancient Egypt), and the place where Pharaohs were buried. After that we will have an opportunity to visit the Alabaster Factory.

We will proceed to visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari. This temple is considered as one of the most wonderful examples of the Architecture in ancient Egypt because it was totally carved inside the mountain. At the end of the tour, you will visit the Colossi of Memnon, which belongs to King Amenhotep III. Then we will go back to our cruise ship for lunch, and sail to Edfu.

Day 5Wednesday , July 9 – / Edfu / Kom Ombo / Aswan

After breakfast on board, we will enjoy a chariot ride to the Temple of Horus in Edfu, which is considered to be one of the most well preserved temples in Egypt. After finishing your tour, you will be transferred back to the cruise ship, and sail to Kom Ombo.

After Lunch, we will join our Egyptologist tour guide to visit one of the most wonderful temples in Egypt, Temple of Kom Ombo, where the two gods Sobek & Haroeris were worshipped for a while. After the Visit, we will return back to the cruise and start sailing to Aswan.

Day 6Thursday, July 10 – Aswan Nile cruise /Nubian Village

Heritage Pride Day: Everyone should wear their favourite t-shirt – college, university, family reunion, city, state, workplace, etc.

After breakfast, we will have a Felucca ride (small boat) in the Nile River to cross to the Nubian Village. We will visit a school where we can interact with the children. Learn about their life and education. Later, we will visit a local Egyptian home where you will have the opportunity to share gifts with children and families. Later, we will return to our Cruise ship for lunch.

After Lunch, we will visit the temple of Philae and the Essential Oils Factory.

Overnight on our cruise ship in Aswan.

Day 7Friday, July 11 – Cairo / Egyptian Museum & Khan El Khalili Tour

This morning, we will check out from the cruise ship and transfer to Aswan airport for our flight back to Cairo.
Upon arrival to Cairo airport, we will be picked up to start our visit to the Egyptian Museum & Khan El Khalili bazaar with our English-speaking Egyptologist.

Later, return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 8Saturday, July 12 – Luxor/Cairo/Istanbul

After breakfast, prepare to check out and transfer to Cairo airport for your flight to Istanbul on MS 737 at 10:40am.

Upon arrival in Istanbul at 1:00pm, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel.

Pick up from your hotel around 7:00pm and after a short drive, you will be taken to a boat where you will taste the joy of famous Turkish cuisine on the Bosphorus. During dinner and cruise, spectacular oriental show will be performed by well known belly dancers, folk groups from various regions of Anatolia and Turkish singers.
(possible visit to Kristal Clinic).

Transfer back to your hotel.

Day 9Sunday, July 13 – Istanbul

Pick up from your hotel and drive to Istiklal Street (Independence Avenue) which is a hive of activity any time of day or night, we’ll weave through the backstreets, an often-neglected sightseeing route dotted with historic buildings, crumbling churches, hip cafes, swanky restaurants and market stalls. The area is one of the most colorful districts in the city.

Continuing downhill we arrive at Karakoy and cross the Unkapani Bridge then it goes on with Bosphorus Cruise. The magical journey which covers both European and Asian shores will let you see the marvelous monuments and districts like: Maiden Tower (Kiz Kulesi), Dolmabahce Palace, Ciragan Palace, Ortakoy, Fethi Ahmet Pasa Mansion, Ortakoy Mosque, Beylerbeyi Palace, Kuleli Military School, Arnavutkoy, Bebek and more highlights of Istanbul located on both sides of the Bosphorus.

We will also see the Rumeli Fortress (Rumeli Hisari), which was built by Mehmet the Conquerer in 1452, for preparation of his planned siege of Byzantine Constantinople.
Transfer back to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 10Monday, July 14 - Istanbul /Cairo

After breakfast in your hotel, there is a full day guided tour which includes St. Sophia (just from outside) the cathedral built by Emperor Justinian in 537 which was the largest church in Christendom for a thousand years, the Byzantine Hippodrome with its various monuments including a 3500-year-old red granite obelisk brought from Egypt and erected here in 390 AD.

The Ottoman Empire produced marvelous architecture, and you’ll see two of its finest works: Topkapi Palace (Harem section is included), home of the sultans, and the famed Blue Mosque of Sultan Ahmet I. After all these visits, you’ll venture into the labyrinthine Grand Bazaar.

Later, transfer to Istanbul Airport for your flight back to Cairo on MS736 at 6:35pm.

Day 11Tuesday, July 15 – CAI/IAD

Board your international flight back to IAD on MS981 at 12:25am. Arrive Washington Dulles Airport at 05:10am.
