Practical Information

  • - Best Time to Go: Plan your trip in spring (March–June) or fall (September–November) for mild weather, fewer crowds, and vibrant festivals. Summer is lively but can be very hot, especially in Andalusia.
  • - Stay Hydrated & Energized: Sightseeing days can be active, with walking tours through historic quarters and museums. Carry a reusable water bottle and light snacks to stay refreshed.
  • - Embrace Local Culture: Spain moves at a different pace — expect later meal times, long afternoon breaks, and lively evenings. Embrace the rhythm by enjoying a siesta or relaxing café time between activities.
  • - Try Regional Specialties: Each region has its own must-try dish:
  • Madrid – Cocido Madrileño (hearty stew)
  • Valencia – Authentic Paella
  • Barcelona – Tapas and Cava
  • Seville – Jamón Ibérico & local sherry wines
  • - Be Prepared for Walking: Many highlights, like Toledo’s old town or Seville’s Alcázar, involve cobblestone streets and steps. Comfortable walking shoes are essential.
  • - Respect Sacred Sites: Bring a light scarf or shawl for visits to cathedrals and monasteries (like Córdoba’s Mezquita or Seville Cathedral).
  • - Enhance the Experience: Consider optional add-ons like a flamenco show in Seville, a winery visit in Montserrat, or an evening stroll along Barcelona’s beachfront. These cultural touches make the journey more personal.
  • - Travel Light: With train transfers and walking transfers in historic areas, a medium suitcase plus a day bag is more practical than heavy luggage.
